The first Nashville students in the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) diploma program began classes December 11. For several months, work has been underway to renovate part of the campus and install the heavy equipment, donated by Lennox, Trane, Donelson Air and Baker Distribution.

“We’re extremely grateful to the businesses in the community who have donated equipment for our Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning lab,” says Angel Almond, Remington College Nashville Campus President.

Remington programs give students classroom instruction and hands-on training.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics reports that employment of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration mechanics and installers is projected to grow 15% from 2016 to 2026.1

“We’re meeting the needs of our community,” says Almond. “Before Remington College launches a new program, it turns to industry experts to explore the needs. While employment is not guaranteed upon completion of the program, students do receive specialized hands-on training that may qualify him or her for an entry-level position.”

The HVAC program is designed to provide students with skills in the fundamentals and practice of the HVAC industry. Students can earn a diploma in as little as 12 months.2

“It’s not too late to enroll,” says Almond. “We have program starts every month.”

The curriculum covers:

  • HVAC technology, theory and safety
  • Maintenance techniques
  • Motor functions
  • Residential and commercial systems
  • Refrigeration and freezer systems
  • Automated control use, troubleshooting and repair

Remington College Nashville is located at 441 Donelson Pike #150, Nashville, TN 37214.
