Rest in Peace: Brud Childress, November 24, 1952 – July 11, 2018

Brud Childress, age 66, of Braselton, owner of Mechanical Equipment Company, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Memorial Services were held on July 14, 2018 at the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Dr. Mike Day officiated.

Mr. Childress was preceded in death by: his father, Alva Jack Childress, Sr. and mother, Evelyn Childress. He is survived by: his wife of 48 years, Wanda D. Childress of Braselton; son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Corrine Childress of Hoschton;brothers and sisters-in-law, A. Jack and Kandi Childress, MD of Idaho; Glen and Julie Childress of Anderson, South Carolina; granddaughter:, Syvon Childress; grandson, Braylen Childress; and several nieces.

Brud Childress was the Chairman of the Board for Mechanical Equipment Company. The company was founded in 1963 by A. Jack Childress, Bruds father.
Mechanical Equipment Company grew from a predominately small equipment distributor, to one of the largest independent wholesalers in the Southeast.
