October 29, 2020

Florida residents once again benefitted from the Lennox Feel The Love™ program this year as participating dealers in the state joined others throughout the country providing comfort systems to needy families on Feel The Love Weekend, the first weekend in October.

In 2018, Lennox, a leading provider of innovative home comfort solutions, launched Feel The Love™, a new corporate social responsibility program. Originally introduced as Heat U.P. in 2009, Feel The Love engages Lennox dealers and employees to nominate deserving families in need with access to perfect indoor heating and air, at no cost including installation.

Recipients are selected based on a variety of criteria, including physical, mental, or social disabilities; financial challenges; job loss; military service; and community service. But beyond that, each recipient has one thing in common: they always put others first. Past nominees include community figures such as teachers, firefighters and volunteers; families facing hard times; veterans; senior citizens living in older homes; and people impacted by natural disasters.

Here are some of the families and contractors from this year’s Florida participants:

  • The Badger family of LeHigh Acres. Richard and Dawn’s son Shane has been battling spinal cancer and is wheelchair bound as a result of his chemotherapy treatments. Dawn left her nursing job three years ago to care for Shane and the family didn’t have the financial resources to replace their failing 22-year old air conditioning system. Lorraine Wright of Gulf Shore Cooling Inc., her team of Larry, Craig, Tom, Tank and Tyler, Lennox Territory Manager Justin Zanella and the surrounding community banded together to provide a new Lennox system covered by a Lennox Comfort Shield Extended Warranty at no cost to the family.
  • Kathy T. of Clearwater lost her Army veteran husband last year and lost her nursing job earlier this year. Like so many families, she is facing a financial crisis and was unable to repair her air conditioning system. Hale’s Air Conditioning of Clearwater heard of her plight and, with Lennox Territory Manager Eric Cain’s assistance, Provided Kathy with a new system. “We greatly appreciate our veterans and first responders and we’re glad to be able to help one of our front-line workers in her time of need,” stated Beth Sanden of Hale’s AC.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Gunderson of Cape Coral were referred as worthy recipients to Comfort Zone, Inc. in Cape Coral by the Feel The Love program. Lennox Field Technical Consultant Rob Webber and Lennox Territory Manager Justin Zanella coordinated the delivery and installation of the Lennox system with Comfort Zone Inc. owner Sam Troyer.
