A newly constructed STEM Academy has opened its doors to 500 students thanks to mechanical contractor, Mechanical Technologies & Solutions. Southwest Charlotte STEM Academy was established in an effort to provide better educational opportunities for minority students.

While the industry leader has served upwards of 150 brands throughout the years, MTS is particularly proud of a recent design and build project they completed on behalf of BC Construction Group.

BCCG was responsible for the construction of Southwest Charlotte STEM Academy (65,000 sqft), in Mecklenburg County, NC. The nation-wide construction firm that specializes in the charter school sector turned to MTS to handle the mechanical contracting needs.

MTS Vice President, Chad East, said “Education is the passport to the future. This is why we were thrilled to carry out a mechanical project that will better the education facility of numerous students for years to come.”

This is not the first time MTS has worked in the education sector. Due to MTS’ tight-knit relationships with various Facility & Operations Managers at North Carolina universities, the team has been entrusted with several jobs at world renowned – Wake Forest University and High Point University.
