SupplyHouse Ask Americans: Who’s the Tradesman Who Saved Your Day?

August 25, 2026

The Day Savers national contest will award $100,000 to tradesmen who show up when it matters most, with Tim McGraw joining the effort to shine a spotlight on the skilled trades

SupplyHouse, a leading e-commerce distributor of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical supplies, launched The Day Savers, a national contest inviting Americans to share the stories of tradesmen who showed up when it mattered most. In celebration of National Tradesmen Day, SupplyHouse will award $100,000 to 10 deserving tradespeople, with each receiving $10,000 and recognition as part of the 2026 Day Savers Crew.

The idea behind The Day Savers is simple: tradesmen arrive when something is broken and often leave as soon as it’s fixed, once the heat is back on, the water is running, or the day is back on track. Too often, they never get to see what their work made possible or the impact they had on the people they helped. SupplyHouse created The Day Savers to change that by giving customers, families, coworkers, and communities a way to tell those stories and recognize the tradesmen who are there when they need them most.

“Tradesmen are at the heart of everything we do at SupplyHouse, and we see every day how much people rely on their skill, dedication, and willingness to show up when it matters most,” said Kaylin Staub, Chief Marketing Officer at SupplyHouse. “The Day Savers contest is about giving people a chance to tell those stories and show tradesmen the impact they make long after the job is done. National Tradesmen Day is an opportunity to say thank you, but our commitment to supporting and celebrating the trades is something we’re proud to carry forward all year long.”

To help amplify the campaign, music superstar Tim McGraw is joining SupplyHouse in encouraging Americans to recognize the tradespeople who have saved the day for them. For McGraw, the campaign also has a personal connection: his nephew, Matthew, built a career in the trades and now runs his own company.

“Nothing makes you feel more helpless than having something break down in your house and not being able to fix it, from a busted pipe to the AC on a hot summer day. We all need someone to come in and save the day,” said Tim McGraw. “One tradesman I’m most proud of is my nephew, Matthew. He has grown through the years from learning a trade to running his own company. He’s not only skilled, but he also treats people right along the way. I know Matthew’s a ‘day saver’ and I’m excited to shine the light on him and other tradesmen like him.”

How The Day Savers Contest Works

Beginning August 24, people can nominate a deserving tradesman by posting a short video sharing the story of how that person saved their day. Entries can be submitted on Instagram, TikTok, X, or Facebook by tagging the appropriate official SupplyHouse account and using #TheDaySaversContest. The contest runs through September 9.

Following the entry period, public engagement — including likes, comments, and shares — will determine the 25 entries that advance to the SupplyHouse judging panel. The panel will then evaluate finalists based on three criteria: impact on others (40%), exemplification of the “Always Shows Up” spirit (35%), and the strength and authenticity of the story (25%).

On September 18, National Tradesmen Day, SupplyHouse will announce 10 winners. Each will receive a $10,000 cash prize and be recognized as a member of the 2026 Day Savers Crew.

More Than One Day

While National Tradesmen Day provides an opportunity to put an even brighter spotlight on the skilled trades, The Day Savers is an extension of SupplyHouse’s year-round commitment to the people and future of the trades.

That commitment includes the TradeMaster program, SupplyHouse’s program for trade professionals; Track to the Trades, its national scholarship program supporting the next generation of skilled tradespeople; and the SupplyHouse Foundation.

Through these initiatives — and its everyday work serving plumbing, HVAC, and electrical professionals — SupplyHouse aims to support the people who keep homes, businesses, and communities running while strengthening the future of the skilled trades.
