From the Inside
By Walter Arnett
Happy New Year again. I said that last month, but it doesn’t hurt to say it more often than once. Christmas and New Year’s went by in good fashion for me. I had good weather, good friends, a lot of good food, and more than enough football, followed by good napping.
Now, it is time for the AHR EXPO in Atlanta. I hope that many of you made plans to be there to gain the new information that will help you in your business. If not, don’t fail to ask for an account of the EXPO from your equipment distributor. He should have much new information to share with you. You will be able to read about many new products and ideas next month here in the HVAC Insider, also, so don’t miss it. As in every year, the staff members of the Insider will cover the AHR EXPO thoroughly to give you a good account of the event.
The crazy weather seems to be beginning to settle down with some signs of a cold wave nearing. If you haven’t given your customers a call to set up a seasonal check-up on their system, now is not too late. Most of them don’t think about this, so you need to remind them that it is time. A check-up call may not find anything wrong, but it will surely help prevent trouble and protect equipment, as well as the customer.
Another word of advice to you, don’t forget that tax season is also here. If you haven’t been keeping up with the changes in requirements recently, your accountant should be able to advise you if you need to do something else for him to save money for you, hopefully. Good luck. We’ll talk again next month.
