Inside Seer: Bad Ideas While Driving

I don’t know if you have noticed or are doing these things yourself but I have seen people everywhere texting and talking on their phones (not hands free) constantly while driving. I’m sure at one time or another you have heard or read a story about people injured or killed as a result of using their phone while driving. I have also been guilty of doing this in the past. My phone is a huge part of my business in addition to handling family matters. As you are aware, it can be very dangerous.

Pete GardnerFor me, after one incident of crossing the double yellow line while reading an email, I almost had a head on collision. It scared me to a point that I decided not to use the phone unless I take the time and pull over to the side of the road or a convenient place.

I guess we think that nothing will go wrong, until it does. Then, of course, it’s too late. Think about how bad it could wind up. It only takes a few seconds to get into serious situations that may not leave you with any reaction time. We probably don’t think about it but the person driving toward you, or along side of you, might also be using their phones at the same time. This can be twice as dangerous and could be disastrous.

I know that in this busy world, with work and family activities, it’s hard to resist using your phone while driving your vehicle. Be careful, take a few extra minutes to pull over and do it properly. It will allow you to think more clearly and better deal with an issue. It will be a lot safer and could result in a more accurate and better communication. Take care and drive safely!
