Johnstone Supply – The Woburn Group Adds to Its Team
Johnstone Supply the Woburn Group, a leading HVAC/R distributor in the Boston area is pleased to introduce Sam Wills as a Territory Manager and Martin Ritsch as an Inside Sales Engineer to their team. Sam brings 15+ years of experience working with HVAC contractors, engineers, and facility managers in Massachusetts. Martin has a background in mechanical engineering and outside sales. He comes from a local distributor where he specialized in supporting engineering design firms and HVAC contractors throughout New England. Sam and Martin will be based out of Johnstone Supply’s Medford, MA branch servicing the Boston area.
Sam got his start at a local HVAC distributor and worked his way up from the warehouse to managing a territory with over $5 million in sales per year. Most recently, Sam spent the last 1.5 years as a Project Sales Rep at a local mechanical contractor, mainly focused on bringing in new business from banking, tech, and industrial sectors. While there, he was able to win a $400k+ contract for HVAC upgrades and implementation of a full BACNet controls system for a local bank’s headquarters. This experience allows him manage projects from both sides and collaborate with customers on a higher level. When reached for comment Sam said “I look forward to getting back to my roots in distribution sales and partnering with contractors in the area to help them with all of their equipment, parts, and supplies needs.” Sam brings a different perspective to the Johnstone Supply sales team as it will allow them to expand their market share in the commercial HVAC market as a result of many years of product training and designing projects with engineers. From residential jobs to large scale applied projects including VRF, Sam’s new customers can expect nothing but the highest level of service and expertise.
After many years of working in engineering and sales, Martin utilized his mechanical engineering degree to pivot into the HVAC industry where he gained experience with a wide range of HVAC products, covering the residential, commercial and applied market. Over time, he worked his way up to be the main point of contact for supporting engineering design firms. He was also heavily involved in the Plan & Spec department, quoting projects from multi-family homes to intricate custom air handlers. Martin is excited to join the Johnstone Supply team to work with them to increase their growth in the commercial HVAC market through his product knowledge and relationships with design firms and contractors throughout New England.
