Olimpia Splendid USA Introduces the Maestro Series Air Conditioner/Heat Pump with No Outdoor Unit
Olimpia Splendid USA has introduced the Maestro Series, the only air conditioner/heat pumps with no outdoor units. A thru the wall heat pump offering, the Maestro is new to the North American market and truly a one of a kind product. Designed primarily for residential single family and multi-family markets, it is ideal for college dormitories, military barracks, assisted living facilities, churches, schools and other light commercial projects as well.
There are two models available, both with sealed R410A refrigerant circuits: (1) Maestro Smart, which is a 9,000 BTUH heat pump with a single stage compressor and multi speed fan and (2) Maestro Pro, which is a 12,000 BTUH heat pump with an inverter compressor and variable speed fan motor. The units are whisper-quiet, with sound levels as low as 32 dB and best in class sound transmission ratings (STC 36 & OITC 25). Both models provide heating and cooling and have 4 operating modes: (1) Dehumidification reduces airflow to increase the amount of moisture removed from the space, (2) Fan only adjusts the fan speed to optimize air circulation, (3) Auto adjusts setpoint based on ambient temperature and (4) Sleep, which gradually increases the temperature setpoint ensuring whisper-quiet operation, greater comfort and energy savings at night time. Both Maestro models are designed with the “Pure System 2” filtration feature that combines an Electrostatic Filter designed to eliminate small particles such as smoke, dust, pollen and pet dander and an Active Carbon Filter, which eliminates unpleasant odors.
A value added feature the Maestro Series offers is installation versatility with high wall or low wall configurations, providing total air diffusion for consistent temperature throughout the space thanks to the rotating supply air flap. “The Maestro Series thru the wall unit provides ultimate comfort where we live, work and play,” states Diego Stefani, Director of Sales North America. “And that comfort is controlled with the standard multi-function hand-held remote and Maestro app or with Olimpia Splendid’s wall mounted wireless thermostat.”
Contractors will appreciate how easy the Maestro units are to install, which only takes about 1 hour. It requires hanging the wall mounted unit bracket, making two 8” holes in the exterior wall for fresh air intake and compressor air exhaust, inserting the wall sleeves and plugging the unit into a standard electrical outlet like any household appliance. Energy savings are realized since the units are 115V and only pull 8 Amps. Installation costs are further reduced by eliminating the need for an electrician since a separate circuit is not required. The units are factory-charged with refrigerant, eliminating system evacuation, charging or balancing. Everything needed for installation is included with each Maestro unit, except for tools to make the two 8” holes.
The Maestro design was born in 1999 in Brescia, Italy where Olimpia Splendid is headquartered and where their manufacturing plant is located. There are over 500,000 units installed throughout Europe and, although the product is new to the North American market, it is a proven technology with tremendous growth potential since there is no other unit like in in the industry. Eliminating the large rectangular openings required for PTAC/PTHP systems or mini split condenser brackets and line sets preserves the integrity of a building’s façade. The need to preserve the exterior appearance of buildings that are hundreds and even thousands of years old when installing air conditioning in Italy led to the development of the Maestro Series. As the Olimpia Splendid advertising campaign states, “Beautiful Outside, Cool Inside” is absolutely true!
“The unique selling proposition we are able to offer to our distributor and dealer partners in the North American market is access to a product that no other manufacturer has,” stated Stefani. “It is not a PTAC or window unit or room air conditioner. It is in a class all by itself. To further differentiate ourselves, we back our product with an industry best warranty of 7 years on the compressor, 2 years on parts and a 1 year unit replacement warranty should the compressor fail in the first 12 months. Our “3 & 3” Comfort Plan, a factory-backed extended warranty, is available to increase the compressor warranty to 10 years and parts warranty to 5 years*.”
