Venstar Displays Connected Wi-Fi Thermostats and Wi-Fi Sensors at the Restaurant Facility Management Association Annual Conference

March 06, 2020

Venstar® will display its ColorTouch® and Explorer® Mini connected Wi-Fi® thermostats as well as its Wi-Fi sensors at the Restaurant Facility Management Association (RFMA) Annual Conference being held March 8–10, 2020, at the Gaylord Denver. Venstar will be at booth Number 707.

“At Venstar, we are devoted to delivering high-quality HVAC solutions that help restaurant chains reduce energy costs and ensure indoor comfort,” said Steve Dushane, president and CEO of Venstar Inc. “Using Skyport Cloud, users can remotely monitor and control the thermostats at their restaurants using a mobile phone or desktop computer, eliminating the need to physically visit the restaurants to make thermostat changes.”

PizzaRev using Venstar wireless thermostats to save on energy costsVenstar’s ColorTouch (Models T8850 and T8900)  and Explorer Mini Wi-Fi (Model T2050) thermostats are Wi-Fi enabled for remote monitoring and control using Venstar’s Skyport® Cloud Services and free Skyport Mobile App. Most models are OpenADR certified, enabling users to participate in utility-generated events, and Title 24 certified, including Equipment Fault Detection Diagnostics (FDD). Select models also offer humidity control.

Venstar’s Wi-Fi temperature sensors measure remote air temperatures such as indoor or outdoor and walk-in refrigerator/freezers. Venstar’s Mini Temperature Sensor (ACC-TSENWIFIMini) delivers Wi-Fi features with ultra-low-power. Venstar’s Wi-Fi Temperature Sensor (ACC-TSENWIFI) includes a stainless ‘external’ duct sensor that can be used as a supply air temp sensor or return air temp sensor.

The sensors can also facilitate indoor room temperature averaging to balance temperatures in areas where there are not any thermostats. The sensors report findings to the Venstar thermostats to enable management of temperatures and energy usage throughout the restaurant.

Venstar’s free Skyport Mobile App enables users to remotely access and control Venstar’s Wi-Fi thermostats with their Apple® iOS and Android™ mobile devices. From the mobile app, users can:

  • View thermostat information, such as current weather and forecast and equipment status (heating, cooling, off)
  • Control thermostat settings, such as change heat and cool setpoints or thermostat modes and set “Home” or “Away” at the touch of a button
  • Enable or disable the Time Period Schedule
  • View thermostat alerts such as supply air temperature, air filter replacement and time for service
  • View current space temperatures with high and low values for the day
  • View heating and cooling runtimes for the day, current week and previous week

On the Skyport Cloud website, users have access to more advanced programming options including global changes to temperature, mode, time period schedules, holidays and vacations.
