Breakfast with Trane: Dual-Temperature Chilled Water Plants

On the morning of February 27, 150 guests earned PDH hours at the Boland Breakfast with Trane: Dual-Temperature Chilled Water Plants at the Ritz-Carlton in McLean, VA. This is the last of a three-part series on Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems.

As part of this breakfast, Boland brought in Mick Schwedler, Trane Applications Engineer, who specializes in system optimization, for which he holds patents. Mick has been in the industry since 1982, and he has presented technical information through Trane’s Engineers Newsletter Live series, and ASHRAE webcasts.

Session highlights included: how to comply with ASHRAE Standard 90.1 when designing a chilled cater terminal system; the advantages and disadvantages of single and dual-temperature chilled water systems; and how to identify, design, and control strategies for the chilled water plant for use with various types of systems.
