The seminar for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) professionals began at 6 p.m. at Trattoria 35 in Bayside. O’Brien, a Long Island native, discussed his experience building his company, how he got into the HVAC industry, what challenges he has faced in his 15 years as company president and how he overcame them.

At the event, Kerry O’Brien detailed how much of the company’s ability to survive for 85 years in business is attributed to adaptability.

“My father and grandfather taught me: ‘The one constant is change.’”O’Brien said. “Since we opened our doors, we’ve evolved with the times and updated everything from the equipment and tools we use to our customer service. For us, it’s a thrill keeping up with modern challenges and advancements.”

The Survive and Thrive event also featured Joseph DeMicco, founder and CEO of Amplify Industrial Marketing + Guidance.
