The 38th Annual Spring Building Safety Conference of New Jersey was held Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, May 1-3, at Bally’s Atlantic City. Continuing education seminars were offered which included topics such as:

• 2018 IRC Wall Bracing.
• Relationships of Enforcing Regulations;
• 2018 IBC Changes;
• 2018 IMC/IFGC Changes;
• NEC/DCA Code Update;
• NFPA 13 2016 Update;
• 2018 National Standard Plumbing Code and ICC Code Change Update;
• UCC Rehab Code;
• 2018 IRC Performing Residential Mechanical Inspections;
• and more.

A free job fair and networking event was held on Wednesday evening and was open to the public. This special event was sponsored by the Building Safety Conference of New Jersey Committee, Municipal Electrical Inspectors Association, Municipal Construction Officials of NJ, NJ Plumbing Inspectors Association, NJ Fire Prevention and Protection Association, Building Officials Association of NJ, and the NJ Association of Technical Assistants.

On Thursday an awards luncheon was held to honor the Code Enforcement Persons of the Years awards recipients, and that evening a reception was held to celebrate with the recipients of the Code Enforcement Persons of the Years awards in a joyous atmosphere of Octoberfest in May. Everyone enjoyed the celebration, delicious food, music and good friends!

Special events were also planned for attending spouses which included a painting party, special breakfasts, shopping, and opportunities to enjoy all that Atlantic City has to offer.
