From the Inside
By Walter Arnett
Since August things have been hopping. To begin, the Florida issue of the HVAC Insider started its 27th year of service with news of products, businesses, industry accomplishments, and people, all related to our profession. We thank everyone for your support through the years and look forward to working with you in the future.
Also, during the month of August, I was fortunate enough to celebrate my 90th birthday. Friends gathered for a party given to me at the FISH N’ PIG Restaurant on Lake Tobesofkee here in Macon. Friend, John McCord, owner, arranged the affair and a few surprises for me. Included in the attendees were Peter Montana, Loren Hendley and Spencer Artz, all from Florida.
Then, along came the hurricane season to do it’s ungodly damage and interrupt a lot of lives. As if they weren’t bad enough, the rains, winds and floods took over for a while after them. The latest is the multitude of tornados in several coastal states, including Florida and Georgia. To go elsewhere, the fires in California have destroyed forests, homes, towns and untold numbers of lives. We hope and pray for everyone effected by these uncontrollable happenings, no matter where they are.
Thanksgiving is right on top of us. There will be a lot of good food and football, with naps to follow, I’m sure. Enjoy yourselves and be safe if you are traveling. Leave in plenty of time to keep from rushing into any trouble. We’ll talk again next month.
