Propane Council, Featured Panelists to Discuss Mixed-Fuel Solutions for ZNE Builds in Upcoming Webinar
The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) is offering a new webinar as part of its “Propane Presents Technology Series.” The webinar, focused on zero net energy (ZNE) in residential construction, will take place at 2 p.m. EST on Jan. 28.
During the live webinar, PERC will provide a brief overview of ZNE and featured panelists — David Knight of Monterey Energy Group, Bill Owens of Owens Construction, and Matt Evans, a certified home energy rater with Newport Ventures — will discuss how ZNE fits into the country’s energy landscape and how mixed-fuel homes featuring propane are meeting customers’ energy and lifestyle demands.
“Propane’s versatility and low-carbon output makes it an ideal energy source for achieving resiliency, sustainability, and performance in ZNE builds,” said Bryan Cordill, director of residential and commercial business development at PERC. “We hope this webinar helps debunk the misconception that ZNE means all-electric and showcases propane’s ability to provide a clean, efficient, and affordable energy solution for both builders and their customers.”
Propane-powered appliances can significantly lower a home’s energy consumption, making it easier to achieve ZNE goals. Plus, propane can work hand-in-hand with renewable energy sources like wind and solar. In fact, mixed-fuel solutions are popular in ZNE projects because homeowners can lower their monthly utility bills while still enjoying the benefits of gas appliances.
PERC’s “Propane Presents Technology Series” focuses on new and emerging propane technologies, education, and best practices to approach the ideal customer. Hosted and facilitated by PERC, in partnership with various OEMs, the series aims to showcase various propane products across multiple markets, answer questions directly from the industry and end users, and provide relevant resources and training information.
