National partnership will support Homes For Our Troops’ mission of building and donating specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans.

Cinch Home Services (Cinch), the nation’s leading provider of home service solutions, has partnered with Homes For Our Troops (HFOT), a non-profit organization dedicated to building and donating specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives.

As part of its ongoing commitment to simplifying the home management experience, Cinch will donate a home protection plan to every HFOT home built across the nation, as well as raise awareness and drive fundraising efforts to support HFOT’s mission.

As part of the partnership, Cinch is now HFOT’s exclusive supplier of home protection plans and is committed to supporting 40 home builds through 2022. The properties are spread across 18 states, including Texas, California, Florida, Tennessee, Alaska, Nebraska, Georgia and North Carolina. Each home will be provided with a 3-year Complete Home Plan, ensuring comprehensive coverage for the critical systems and appliances HFOT’s Veterans will rely on a daily basis.

Cinch and HFOT also just celebrated their first joint community kick-off in Jupiter Farms, Florida with a community kick-off of a new custom home for Army Sgt. Justin Callahan, his wife and two children (soon-to-be three).

Justin Callahan joined the Army as a combat engineer at the age of 18 in 2000, with the desire to do something meaningful for his country. He served in Korea before deploying to Afghanistan in 2003 with B Company, 41st Engineer Battalion, 10th Mountain Division.

On Jan. 15, 2004, SGT Callahan was conducting route clearance operations outside of Bagram Airfield when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off. SGT Callahan lost his left leg as a result of the blast.

Dealing with his injury for almost 15 years has taken a toll on his body. When he was in his early 20s, it was easier for him to hop on one leg while in the shower and navigate on crutches in a non-accessible home. Now that he is older and has his young sons to care for, maneuvering around his home has become more challenging. A single-level specially adapted Homes For Our Troops home with a roll-in shower and open floorplan will mitigate many of these issues for Justin. “The home will enable me to move easily in my wheelchair. I will be more productive at home with my family because I won’t be limited to one room,” he says.

Justin believes the gift of a new home will enable him to maintain his health and be a productive member of society. He plans to use his degree to work with other Veterans transitioning into civilian life, and he and Katie would like to expand their family. Additionally, the financial freedom of the home will give them the opportunity to save for their sons’ futures.
