Ed enjoyed a long career in the HVAC industry. He joined Air Purchases, Inc. in its infancy in 1977 as an inside sales person, and was promoted to sales manager in 1979, successfully leading the company’s sales team for the next 34 years. Prior to coming on board at Air Purchases Ed proudly served his country in the US Navy, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

“In many ways, Ed was like a second father to me,” said Engel, whose father Frank founded Air Purchases in 1969. “He was an integral part of the team that helped our company grow and continue to prosper through much of its 50-year history.”

Ed’s brilliant smile and mischievous sense of humor were legendary in the industry and provided the fodder for many amusing “Ed” stories over the years. “He kept us laughing through good times and bad, and will be very much missed by all of us,” said Engel.

Ed is survived by his wife, Janice, daughter Kerry A. Foley and her husband Joseph, sons Michael and Kevin, and five grandchildren.
