The Manasota Air Conditioning Contractors Association (MACCA) and Trane Supply hosted a two-day Manual J, S and D training on January 20 and 21, 2021 at the Sarasota Trane Supply facility.

Presented by Bob Volin of Air Design Concepts, Inc., the training was perfect for HVAC contractors, designers, estimators, operation managers and anyone interested in the load calculation process.

The workshop provided comprehensive training on how to perform Manual J Load calculations, how to select equipment as per Manual S and Ductwork Design as per Manual D. Also included was how to perform a field study and a discussion about the Florida Energy Code and its effect on load calculations.

Topics included the quickest and more accurate way to perform load calculations; what the building departments are looking for; equivalent length fittings selection and duct sizing calculations and air side examples and samples of job duct sizing.

Attendees received 8 contractor CEU credits for completing the course.
