Simpson Air Celebrates 20 Years of Serving the Tampa Bay Area
Simpson Air hosted their 20th anniversary celebration with a party at their offices located at 12302 N Nebraska Avenue, Tampa, FL on August 2, 2019. The rain showers didn’t stop the invited customers, employees and manufacturer and distributor representatives from enjoying the food catered by the Xtreme Tacos and Revolution Ice Cream food trucks and live music provided by The Stingerz. A bronco-busting styled shark ride and bean bag toss games added to the festive atmosphere.
Garry and Paige Simpson started Simpson Mechanical, Inc., in 1999 in rented building space with a commitment to “raise the bar” in the industry by caring about the customer, hiring the best employees, and maintaining strong and loyal vendor relationships. Since then, “The Coolest Guys in Town” (their trademarked company slogan) have grown from 3 employees to 50 plus and recently expanded their own state-of-the-art building by adding 3500 square feet of warehouse space. In 2008 they added the retail division, to handle residential service, repair and replacement, while continuing to be a leader in the residential new construction installation market. These new installs continue to choose Simpson Air to service and maintain their systems long after the builder warranties expire.
They are one of the top Carrier Factory Authorized Dealers on the West Coast of Florida. Through their dedication to quality, the industry and the community, the company has become one of the most trusted names in the industry.
While helping customers achieve total satisfaction is the Simpsons’ first priority, so too is giving back to the community that has supported them for 20 years. Through financial contributions and product donations, Simpson has provided support to a number of non-profits in our communities. But they know that what has truly made them successful is the quality and commitment that comes from their employees. Many have been with Simpson Air for 10 plus years. Garry and Paige recognize that it is each and every employee that makes the customers return to use their services. Being able to maintain a stable work force has provided them with an incredible customer base.
Garry Simpson began his HVAC career as an apprentice with Climate Control of Tampa in 1975. Over the years he gained experience in all aspects of the air conditioning trade. In 1994 he joined The Trane Company. “Trane provided me with a great deal of business information and training,” Garry stated. “With their emphasis on dealer support, they taught me the importance of client-vendor relationships.”
Paige’s background in marketing and management complemented Garry’s field expertise and they decided to start their own business. “I had learned a lot about air conditioning, and I really knew new construction,” Garry said. “It also happened to be a great time to enter the market.”
Business demographics require a plan to facilitate handling service and warranty calls efficiently. By choosing projects in a logical geographical area, and not stretching their technicians and installers too thin, they can be available to handle emergency calls the same day. “Our customers have been very impressed with our short response times,” Garry said. “Our commitment to customer service has resulted in many of the homeowners becoming loyal customers and telling their friends about their positive experience.”
Garry says, “We believe we have the best technicians and installers in the market, – these guys flat out get it done – right!” Garry is reminded of calls from inspectors and builders complimenting the work of Simpson installers – for the quickness and quality. His philosophy has always been, “Whatever you do – do it right from the beginning. If you do it right the first time, you have fewer call-backs, paperwork and manpower resulting in more satisfied customers and greater efficiency.”
The team at Simpson Air is proud of their accomplishments. They are leading by example. “We would love to see our industry do more to encourage people to join our trade,” Paige said. “We try to instill a sense of pride in our employees. It not only affects their performance on the job but it can filter over into their personal lives. We want to “raise the bar” and promote a professional image to our customers, employees and suppliers – and have some fun too!”
And so the Simpson Team continues to succeed in the HVAC industry. Their continued commitment to unmatched customer service allows them to deliver the quality service they have become known for over the last 20 years and live up to their slogan “The Coolest Guys In Town!”
