Sworn in for 2019 were President Skip Farinhas, Vice President Kelly Dexter, Secretary/Treasurer Gregg D’Attile and Directors Mark Worrell, Ed Lawton, Gonzalo Azpurua and Bob Volin. They join Past President Doug Lindstrom and Directors Alfredo Andrial, Oscar Calleja, Ernie Sariol and James Schaefer to complete the 2019 Board of Directors.

The highlight of the meeting was Charles Del Vecchio of Tropic Supply being presented with the SFACA Distinguished Service Award “in appreciation of 40+ years as a Director and your tireless service and dedication to SFACA and the HVAC industry.”

In his acceptance remarks, along with thanking the board for the award, Charles encouraged the association members to “let the officers and the directors know what your wishes are. Believe me, they will bend over backwards to accomplish those wishes.”

2019 SFACA President Skip Farinhas’ vision for the association is to become even more member-focused and more active in encouraging member participation not just at the meetings but on committees. “It’s hard for a committee to get things accomplished when there is only one person, and very often a board member, doing all the legwork. We need to have more contractors involved so we can act on the things that concern our members and contractors in general.”

Guest Speaker Matt Michel, CEO of Service Nation/Service Roundtable, concluded the evening with a presentation on “Principles of Leadership.” He outlined practical principles of leadership that can be utilized to become a better leader for an organization. Integrity, honesty, creativity, innovation, profitability, fun, self-direction, service and flexibility were among the 19 principles he discussed.
