Gwinnett Technical College Receives $100,000 Gift from Mingledorff’s
Gwinnett Technical College recently received a $100,000 gift from Mingledorff’s Inc. The gift will be used to create the Mingledorff’s HVAC Scholarship Endowment and continue the expansion of Launch Pointe, the College’s Center for Career Experience.
David Kesterton, Mingledorff’s president says, “It is important to Mingledorff’s that we support Gwinnett Technical College because they educate our future employees on the latest heating and air industry equipment. Gwinnett Tech is vital to our regional employers and we are proud to support their programs, faculty and students.”
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicts a 15% job growth for heating, air conditioning, refrigeration technicians from 2015- 2025. Graduates of Gwinnett Tech’s HVAC program enjoy careers in equipment installation, as service and commercial maintenance technicians or field service representatives.
“Mingledorff’s is a welcome partner to Gwinnett Tech,” says, Dr. D.Glen Cannon, Gwinnett Tech president. “Because of Mingledorff’s and their commitment to education, we are able to reach and support more students on their journey toward careers in Georgia’s most in-demand fields.”
Launch Pointe, Gwinnett Tech’s Center for Career Experience, is laser-focused on providing work-based learning and career development. Working with both large and small local, regional and global business employers, Launch Pointe provides students opportunities to participate in internships, apprenticeships and entrepreneurship experiences designed to augment classroom activity and foster educational, occupational and personal growth.
