NADCA Welcomes New President and Chairwoman to its Board of Directors
The National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) — also known as the HVAC Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Association — welcomes April Yungen as its newest, and first female, President and Chairwoman of the Board.
Yungen founded Air Management Industries in 1997, a company that provides commercial air duct cleaning and air balancing services throughout Southern California. She has served on the NADCA Board of Directors since 2015, and currently serves as Chair of NADCA’s Certification and By-Laws Committees. She has been a member of NADCA since 1997, and has served in several leadership roles throughout her tenure, including chairing the Finance Committee, co-chairing the Standards Committee, and serving as a subject matter expert in several capacities. She holds Air Systems Cleaning Specialist (ASCS) and Certified Ventilation Inspector (CVI) certifications.
“We are delighted to welcome April as our newest President and Chairwoman of our Board of Directors,” said Jodi Araujo, CEM, NADCA’s Chief Executive Officer. “She’s a long-time board member and her volunteer efforts are impactful, as she has led several committees for the organization over the years. April brings diverse experience and leadership in the HVAC system cleaning and inspection industry, and is committed to strengthening mission-critical solutions for our members. She has been, and will continue to be, an incredible asset to the NADCA Board of Directors and the industry at large. And we’re so excited to have elected our first female leader since the founding of NADCA in 1989!”
In other moves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors, Jim Castellano, ASCS, CVI, was elected as 1st Vice President; Clint Orr, ASCS, CVI, as 2nd Vice President; Michael McDavid, ASCS, CVI, as Treasurer, and Hugo Hernandez, ASCS, CVI, was elected to serve as Secretary.
In addition, Paul Keller, Jr., ASCS, and Hugo Hernandez, ASCS, CVI, were re-elected to their next three-year terms on the Board; and Colin Trudo, ASCS, CVI, and Tyler Batchelder, ASCS, CVI, were introduced as NADCA’s newest Board members.
As General Manager at Blackmon Mooring & BMS CAT in Charlotte, North Carolina, Trudo is responsible for HVAC cleaning and restoration services across all 20 company-owned stores, including inspections, estimating, performance, and technical assistance. He holds multiple certifications from NADCA, IICRC, IAQA, OSHA, and more.
Batchelder has been involved in the indoor air quality industry for more than 26 years, and currently serves as the IAQ Division Manager at Chucks Heating and Air Conditioning in Colchester, Vermont. He also holds multiple certifications from NADCA, the American IAQ Council, IAQA, OSHA, and more. Batchelder was recognized in 2020 with NADCA’s MVP award for his unwavering dedication to the NADCA energy study projects.
“NADCA is thrilled to welcome Colin and Tyler to our Board of Directors,” Araujo continued. “Both are fantastic additions to our leadership team, and we are incredibly excited about the energy and expertise they’ll bring to our organization.”
The newly elected Executive Committee and directors officially began their service on March 28 at the Association’s 34th Annual Meeting & Exposition in New Orleans, Louisiana.
